Closed for summer. Your phone isn’t.
Aroha answers the calls you miss while you are closed over Christmas and New Year. Callers hear when you are back, Aroha books them in for after the break, and urgent calls can be texted to you straight away. One payment of NZ$99. Nothing renews.
What your callers hear
"Kia ora, Harbour Plumbing. We’re closed for a break until Monday 11 January, but I can take your details and book you in for when we’re back. How can I help today?"
How it works
- Tell Aroha the days you are closed.
- Forward the calls you miss to your Aroha number. Your phone still rings first.
- Go on holiday. Come back to a list of booked jobs and messages.
Everything the break needs, for one payment
- Every missed call answered
- Up to 250 minutes of calls, about 100 calls, from the day you sign up until 16 January.
- Booked for when you are back
- Your closed days are blocked in the calendar, so jobs land in your first weeks back, never in the middle of your break.
- Urgent calls can reach you
- A burst pipe or a power fault can be texted to your mobile straight away with the caller’s number, so you decide what to answer.
- Keep your own number
- Keep your number and your carrier. Forwarding takes one short code, and you can switch it off any time.
- No subscription
- One payment of NZ$99. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.
- Free after the break
- When the cover ends, your number can stay free: Aroha keeps answering about 10 calls a month at no cost.
Why it matters in summer
The calls do not stop at Christmas. Hot water cylinders burst, power goes out, and people book their January jobs while they are on holiday too. A caller who hits voicemail rings the next business on the list. Aroha answers in your business’s name, takes the details and books the job for when you are back.
Questions
Do I need a new phone number?
No. Keep your number. You forward the calls you miss to your Aroha number with a short code, so your phone still rings first. See the codes for your network.
What do callers hear?
Your business name, that you are closed until the day you are back, and an offer to take their details and book them in. Aroha writes down their name, number, address and what they need, and you get the list.
When does the cover start and end?
It starts as soon as you pay, so you can test it before you close, and it ends on 16 January. You choose your closed days, any period between 15 November and 16 January, up to 45 days.
Does it renew?
No. It is one payment of NZ$99. Nothing renews and nothing is charged again.
What if I get more than 250 minutes of calls?
Aroha keeps answering on the free allowance. After that, callers hear that you will call them back, and you get their number by text, so nobody is lost.
I am not in New Zealand. Can I use it?
Yes. Aroha answers numbers in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. The price is in New Zealand dollars and your bank converts it.
